| TestSprite | Source | |
|---|---|---|
| Generated UI tests | Python and Playwright tests. The code can run in your own CI/CD, but its main use is TestSprite's cloud sandbox. | Source |
| Free plan | $0/month with 150 credits/month, 1 environment and GitHub PR auto-test on 1 repository. The free plan does not list scheduled runs. | Source |
| Paid plans | Starter is $0 for the first month, then $19/month with 400 credits. Standard is $39/month with 800 credits; Pro is $69/month with 1,600 credits. Enterprise starts at $199/month, with plans from 10 seats. | Source |
| GitHub export | Generated test code can be pushed to a GitHub repository per project. The integration does not let you change the target branch or file path. | Source |
| MCP | The @testsprite/testsprite-mcp package runs through npx and supports coding-agent clients including Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. | Source |
| Scheduled runs | Test lists or whole projects can run hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. Schedules are not included on every plan. | Source |
How the workflows differ
| TestSprite | Monito | |
|---|---|---|
| Authoring | The agent turns a product specification into a feature map and a reviewable test plan after exploring the live app. Source | Describe the browser journey and expected result in plain English. |
| Where tests live | Generated Python and Playwright tests run mainly in TestSprite's cloud sandbox. The code can also run in your own CI/CD. Source | Scenarios saved in Monito, with Markdown export. No Playwright code export. |
| Pricing model | Credits meter test execution. A rerun costs the same as a fresh run; the exact backend per-run cost is not exposed by the API. Source | Pro is $79/month for 700 credits. Test runs and Discovery spend credits; see the offer below. |
| Triggers | The GitHub App triggers from deployments reported by GitHub. PR triggers post comments; push triggers post commit checks. Blocking a PR until tests pass is optional. Source | Web app, CLI and MCP. Schedules, deploy webhooks and GitHub Actions are available; plan requirements are below. |
| Maintenance | Auto-Heal repairs UI drift and is not included on every plan. Its docs say it cannot distinguish intentional removal from a regression. Source | You update the scenario when the expected behavior changes. The agent chooses browser actions during each run. |
Where TestSprite is the better fit
Choose TestSprite when you want a coding agent to scan your project, normalize a PRD, generate frontend and backend test plans, then generate and execute tests against the running application. Source
Choose TestSprite when generated Python and Playwright tests are useful artifacts for your team, including running them in your own CI/CD. Source
Choose TestSprite when you want to push generated test code to GitHub. Check the fixed branch and file-path behavior against your repository workflow. Source
Where Monito fits
Use Monito when you want to save a web journey and let the hosted runner operate it. You maintain the scenario's expected behavior and review each run's evidence.
The Monito MCP server lets an AI tool run Monito directly: it checks a URL and expectation in a real browser, returns a verdict with evidence, and lets you save the check as a reusable test.
The hosted server at /api/mcp rejects localhost and private-network URLs; use a deployed preview there.
For a deployed app, schedules and deploy hooks can rerun the same scenario. For work on localhost, the CLI or local MCP server opens a per-run tunnel to the hosted browser.
Monito runs desktop Chromium. It does not test native mobile apps, provide Firefox or WebKit runs, or export Playwright code.
Monito pricing
Pro is $79/month for 700 credits, counted on the pricing page as about 600 test runs and 5 Discoveries. A test run is 1 credit and Discovery is 20, so the same 700 credits are 700 test runs if you skip Discovery. Team is $199/month for 1,800 credits (about 1,500 tests and 15 Discoveries). Yearly plans cost ten monthly payments ($790 and $1,990) and grant twelve months of credits upfront. If Monito caused the error, that run is free.
50 free test credits every month. Your balance refills to 50 on the 1st of each month (UTC), counting credits reserved by running tests. Unused credits are not added again; purchased credits are kept. Your signup credits count as the first month. Free includes one daily schedule. Verify your email to receive monthly refills. Any schedule other than that one daily schedule, a deploy webhook, GitHub Actions, and a public status page need Pro.
Published benchmark evidence
On the held-out benchmark measured 2026-10-12, the verdict was right on 58 of 60 runs, with 0 false passes in 30 chances (95% upper bound 9.6%). The held-out set covers 5 open-source apps.
On our own corpus, measured 2026-10-05, the verdict was right on 110 of 111 runs, with 0 false passes in 57 chances (95% upper bound 5.2%), and 88 of 111 verdicts cited the required evidence. Neither set is a promise about your app. The held-out set is a small number of real bugs in open-source apps. The corpus is ours. The method and the limits are on the reliability page.
